Summer Associate Program

Overview
We invite law students who we believe have the potential to become partners at Michael Best to join our summer program. Our nationally - recognized Summer Associate Program is an important source of future partners, and is designed to provide participants with an experience that is nearly identical to life as an associate. Generally, 2Ls who wish to be considered for the Summer Associate Program meet with us during on-campus interviews. Qualified students will be invited by the Recruitment Committee for call-back interviews in our offices.

Call-Back Interviews
Our Recruitment Coordinator will contact those students invited for call-back interviews to schedule a day of interviews. During scheduling, we will discuss the students' areas of interest to ensure that we include appropriate attorneys on the interview schedule. Candidates will meet with a mix of partners and associates to discuss the firm, practice interests and career goals. Call-back interviews take approximately four hours and include lunch or dinner. The firm also hosts an evening reception for each week's call-back candidates.

Travel
The firm reimburses reasonable travel-related expenses incurred during the student's interview trip. We ask students to make their own travel reservations. If requested, we will make hotel arrangements related to call-back interviews for out-of-town candidates. We ask students to use the NALP Travel Expense Reimbursement Form, which is available at http://www.nalp.org/.

Generally, candidates hear from us within two to three weeks of their call-back interview.
